A Boston Early Music Festival Fringe Event

Virtuosic music for flute and piano: Opera-inspired works for flute and fortepiano by Chopin, Donizetti, and Kuhlau, performed alonngside Schumann's Carnaval op. 9.  

 

Instruments:

Fortepiano by Rodney Regier after Graf and Bösendorfer.

Andrea LeBlanc and David Hyun-su Kim perform 19th c. music for flute and fortepiano with sensitivity and historical understanding, bringing a sense of delight and appreciation to this often-slighted repertoire.   David is an award-winning pianist and scholar, hailed by Malcolm Bilson as a musician “who will doubtless make an important contribution to the musical life of this country”.  He is Professor of Piano and Theory at Whitman College.  Visit David's website to learn more. 

 

Admission to Old South Meeting House museum is $6, $3 with a BEMF pass.  Donations will be gratefully accepted.
